I have never studied Mandarin Chinese before, or I need to start again from the beginning.I know pinyin, pronunciation, tones, how to introduce myself, say where I am from and where I live, and other very basic sentences.I can ask and answer basic questions, know numbers/dates/time, can compare things, and know high frequency verbs and can use them in sentences.I know vocabulary for daily activities, items (clothing etc.), directions (location), and can describe people and things (physical attributes, colors, etc.)I can speak about most conversational topics, but I get tripped up when trying to use complex grammatical structures.I can converse with relative confidence about day-to-day topics and can use some complex structures, but I need to increase the types of conversation topics with which I feel comfortable speaking.I am able to talk about most conversational topics and some professional topics although I lack sophisticated vocabulary and still make mistakes with colloquialisms.I can speak with ease about simple and complex topics. I need more advanced vocabulary building, to be challenged to speak with more sophistication and learn more chengyu and other expressions.
